Metabolic Resistance Training

What is Metabolic Resistance Training?

This is a high-intensity full body workout program that uses large muscle groups to do compound movements. 

So what does that mean?

So far in my career as a Personal Trainer I have yet to train any man, woman, or teenager to compete in a Body Building Competition!  Yet, I cannot tell you how many men, women, and especially teen age males, I see working out like they are getting ready to compete!  Why train a single muscle group on one day and then wait 7 more days to train them again?!  Metabolic Resistance Training will give you the most bang for your buck!  You can train one movement, i.e. a pushup, which utilizes the core, chest, shoulder, and triceps to perform.  You have just trained four different large muscle groups in one movement.  All of those muscles worked together too, which is how our bodies are designed to work in everyday activities.  Of course since you are working so many muscle groups your cardiovascular system is engaged, leaving most people out of breath!  So now you have worked four muscle groups and you've gotten some cardio!

Here is the best part of all.  When you do resistance training, in this case pushing your body weight, you get little microscopic tears in your muscles.  Your body reacts by repairing those tears over the next couple of days.  This reaction requires energy and naturally boosts your metabolism. 

Simply put:  Resistance Training burns calories while you are doing it but also continues to burn calories for hours after you train, but you don't have to spend hours a day training a single muscle group and then doing cardio!

Nutritional Counseling

Losing weight is a simple equation.  Your number of calories that you take in must be less than the number of calories that you burn!  That will never, ever, change.  I described above my approach to burning the maximum amount of calories, both while you train and for hours after.  Now I want to tell you about my approach to what you are taking in.  Most people would say that this part is easy.  "Josh, you just said it yourself.  If i just limit the amount of calories I take in then I'll lose weight"  While that may be true there are several factors that also come into the equation.  What about when you don't do some Hard Corp Training?  What about the fuel your body needs to carry out it's daily actions?  Most importantly what about when you start taking in more calories?  Lets face it, not many people can live the rest of their lives on 1000 calories a day, nor do they want to!  I will teach you how to eat, eat right, and how to maintain that for the rest of your life! 

 

I HATE THE WORD DIET!!  There are some diets out there that do work, I can't lie about that!  However, there is a reason that most people end up gaining all or some of the weight back after they quit the diet.  The problem is that most "diets" out there don't do the one thing that will keep the weight off.  They usually have you buy their product, or tell you exactly what to eat and when, or starve you!  That is great to lose weight and lose it quickly while spending a fortune!  What those diets don't do is EDUCATE YOU.

I like to teach each and every one of my clients how to eat right!  What do you eat?  When do you eat it?  Why does your body need this or that and how much?  What are carbs and proteins and fats and what foods do I find them in?  What are healthier alternatives?  I think it is important to educate everyone on the answers to these questions and so many more!  Eating right should be more than just losing weight.  It should make you look good (improve your body composition), feel good (improve your performance), and be healthier overall!

I have lost 83 lbs over the last two years while working with Josh!  The best part is that through the nutritional guidance and lifestyle changes I learned with Hard Corp Training I have been able to keep it off!!  Another great transformation in my life has been  that I can keep up with my kids.  Two years ago I was always tired and I was so embarrassed about the way I looked that I never wanted to go anywhere or do anything that was remotely physical.  Now, I am the one suggesting different activities for all of us to enjoy.  I feel better about how I look and my new attitude is seen by all around me.  I never dreamed how strong I could be but with Josh's help I am doing and trying new things on a daily basis.  My kids get a kick out of how much I can do and sometimes I even wear them out!.  I look forward to seeing more changes and how much more I can learn!
